FHOS Fishing Report 12/20/2020

Offshore – Fishing was pretty slow with the SW winds. Bonita were scattered but chewing keeping at least some action. If you could persevere through the Bonita bites, some Kingfish were caught. Couple of Sails jumped first thing in the morning, but over all a slow day.

We did weigh in a 120lb Sword yesterday caught by Scott… day timing off the Stuart Inlet. This was Scott’s 20th Day time sword trip, and prior to today, no luck. First drop of the day, about six minutes into his drift and the rod tip gives a little tap-tap. SWORD!!! The swordfish swims for the surface, Scott played him expertly and had the fish to the boat in no time at all… harpooned, landed and headed back for the docks in record time. Laughing about back at the dock, Scott spent more time trolling out to the sword grounds than he did on his drift, fight, and landing of the swordfish. Congrats… pretty work… especially solo.
